My Fishing Journey

I’ve spent years chasing bass across Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, carving out a “power finesse” style that’s a little unorthodox but gets big bites and even bigger stories. Whether it’s working an Eakins Jig through the rocks or swinging a swimbait into the shallows, I’m always pushing to be a smarter, more adaptable angler.

FLW CEO Found Dead: Irwin Jacobs and his wife were found dead in the Minnesota Mansion.

Friends and Family are heartbroken by this loss. They ask that their privacy is respected as they grieve during this very difficult time. The fishing community will send their regards.

FLW Forrest Wood Cup Professional Fishing Tournaments CEO Irwin Jacobs and his wife were found dead Wednesday, April 10, 2019, in their Lake Minnetonka home in an apparent murder-suicide, according to a close friend and business associate.

AKA: Umbrella Rig

All sorts of shapes and sizes of this combination are coming into play.  Saltwater guys will recognize this as a traditional umbrella rig that has been downsized for the black bass species. 

Multiple baits create a small school of prey that appear to be wounded or 1 big easy meal!  

Buddy Tournament Fishing is it for You?

The past few years I’ve been fishing buddy tournaments. I went into fishing these buddy tournaments with apprehension.

Would they be good ‘ole boys with a case of Bud in one hand and Zebco in the other or would they be guys as competitive as me? Let me tell you, I was happy to find out these guys are ultra-competitive. They’ll put a whoopin’ on you in a heartbeat and not think twice about it.
